Common questions
It varies by country, but almost everywhere: the word “invoice”, a unique number, both parties' names and addresses, the issue date, a description of what was supplied, the amount, and any tax charged with its rate. Check your local rules once and build it into your template.
Any consistent, unbroken sequence works — INV-0001 upward, or year-prefixed like 2026-014. What matters is that you can't produce two invoices with the same number, and no number goes missing.
